摘要: The presentation aims to how to simultaneously enhance the strength, stiffness, fracture toughness and conductivity of composite materials by structural design.

By comparing the analytical/computational results of the designed composites to the well known upper and lower bounds, and to the experimental results, it is demonstrated that the Young's modulus could be larger than the Voigt limit, the Poisson's ration could be positive, negative or zero, and the conductivity could be at the upper limit.
